Freshlyground is a South African Afro-combination band that started in Cape Town in 2002. The musicians have various backgrounds, including South Africa, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. Freshlyground's melodic style mixes components of conventional South African music, (for example, kwela and African society music), blues, jazz, and highlights of outside the box rock. They are most popular for their hit "Waka (This Time for Africa)" with Colombian vocalist Shakira, to critical acclaim. The music video – got over 2.40 billion views on YouTube.
